After 10 minutes of thinking! I've come up with a great analogy!
Let's say you've seen a Croton (Codiaeum variegatum). It's in a dark corner and not watered enough and the dead leaves are collecting at the base. It's a sad plant.
Don't you want to pick up the Croton, put it in a bright window, so the leaves will turn a bright pink and give it enough water and clean off the spider mites?
