You will need to buy new lids, they aren't reusable. Grocery stores carry them. You can probably get cheap jars via friends, goodwill, freecycle or craigslist--or buy new at the grocery store. Just make sure they really are mason jars (usually branded Atlas, Kerr, or Ball) and not some other kind. Sometimes the jars will come with rings--they are reusable, but eventually rust--or you can get those at the grocery store. Also, you take the rings off to store the jars so can do several batches of canning with just a few rings.
