lotsofplantsNot turning on my computer much these days, since I'm on the computer all day at work.
Staying surprisingly busy...yesterday was the first Saturday I spent at home in about a month, and the weeknights aren't much different.
But I stayed a bit late at work on Friday and borrowed the photo-editing software briefly, so I have pictures!
Phalaenopsis Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Golden Treasure'.
I picked this up at the Pacific Northwest Flower and Garden Show. I didn't expect it to flower for another year, so I'll forgive the fact it only made one.
Ancient Roman coins coated in dirt!
A friend of mine got me this cool Christmas present which I finally had time to actually *open*. Yeah, check your calendar, do the math. Sad, eh? Note that the two US quarters are not, in fact, ancient Roman coins and are simply present for scale. Looking forward to actually cleaning these off and trying to identify them. I have already selected my first vict...er, subject.
For your amusement, two pictures of the front and back of the box:
And two minor amusements from the text:
The copy on the back (this is the last bullet point if you wish to try squinting) notes that this kit includes "the opportunity to discover rare coins worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars!"
The text at the bottom says (quotation marks present in the original):
"Made in The Roman Empire"
Assembled in the U.S.A.
In other news, I need to find a good (ie, free/cheap, easy-to-use, low-spam) place to host photos. Geocities is not it.
