every winter is a forgetting of the joyful spring

Every spring I realize that I'd forgotten how lovely flowers are. I had my "chocolate" scented orchid (Oncidium Sharry Baby) at my desk last week, and lilacs from a friend's yard on my desk this week. Mmmm, wafts of flower-scent. And I've got a cheerful little african violet blooming on my desk by my computer.

I walked by a lovely fragrant crab apple the other weekend, out for a walk in the sun, and there is still one late cherry blooming on my walk home from work, though too far away to smell. And bulbs flowering everywhere. Spring is a beautiful thing.
