Up late talking with friends, and then lay in bed watching the sky light up. Couldn't see any actual lightning, just the most amazing flashes of light across the sky, occasionally with thunder following long after. The sound of wind in the leaves outside my open windows almost making me think it was raining as I fell asleep, only the lack of droplets hitting my window and face proving otherwise.

I loved lightning storms as a child. I apparently still do.
