Liparis orchid, aka the Angry Chicken!
Finally managed to get a computer, a copy of photoshop, and some old orchid pictures in the same place, so I can share these. I was amused.
Flower of an unknown species of Liparis. It has somewhat salmon colored flowers, maybe 50 tiny flowers at a time. Flowers look like this:
But the underside of the column (reproductive structure, the whiteish thing on the upper right) turns out to be an Angry Chicken! (Pictures looking to the front and to the side.)
I'm still giggling.
