Tasty dinner.

I caramelized an onion.
When it was close to done, I seasoned a really thick tri-tip steak and stuck it under the broiler.
Flip the steak, put the broccoli in the steamer.
Re-heat the leftover brown & wild rice blend in the microwave.

Remove the broiled steak to a plate to sit.
Put the broccoli and onions on the plate next to the hot rice.
Thinly slice the steak. Brown with hints of char on the outside, nicely rare in the middle. Pile it on top of the rice.
Use the meat juices from the steak plate to de-glaze the onion pan, add some seasonings and boil down to a thick, flavorful reduction; spoon over the steak.

Enjoy.

There would have been a carrot involved somewhere, but I ended up snacking on the cut up bits while stirring the onion, so no carrot.
